  1. BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY TO BE USED, NO FIXED RIGS, ONLY FREE RUNNING OR SAFE LEADS ALLOWED
  2. USE OF UNHOOKING MATS AND SUITABLE LANDING NETS ARE MANDATORY. YOU MAY BE ASKED   TO STOP FISHING BY A BAILIFF IF YOU DO NOT POSSESS THESE
  3. CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY – NO KEEP NETS – UNLESS IN COMPETITION
  4. MAXIMUM TWO RODS ONLY
  5. THE MAXIMUM SESSION TIME PERMITTED AT MAJORS LAKES IS 24 HOURS
  6. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD OR OVER TO DO NIGHT FISHING.
  7. NO NUT BAITS OR TROUT PELLETS TO BE USED
  8. JUNIORS UNDER 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT
  9. CARS ARE TO BE PARKED IN THE DESIGNATED CAR PARKS ONLY
  10.  PLEASE LOCK THE GATE AS SOON AS YOU ENTER AND LEAVE
  11.  DOGS MUST BE KEPT UNDER STRICT CONTROL AT ALL TIMES AND ALL MESS MUST BE CLEARED UP AND TAKEN HOME WITH YOU
  12.  PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE ALL RUBBISH HOME WITH YOU TO ENSURE THE LAKES STAY IN THEIR BEAUTIFUL CONDITION
  13.  PLEASE KEEP THE NOISE LEVEL TO A MINIMUM AT ALL TIMES AS IT IS A RESIDENTIAL AREA
  14.  SWIM 22 AT MAJOR’S LAKE IS A DESIGNATED DISABLED SWIM. SHOULD YOU BE FISHING THIS AND A DISABLED MEMBER ARRIVES, PLEASE VACATE AND FIND AN ALTERNATIVE FREE SWIM
  15.  AT NO TIME SHOULD RODS BE LEFT UNATTENDED. IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE YOUR SWIM, PLEASE REMOVE ALL RODS FROM THE WATER, THUS NOT CAUSING ANY DISTRESS TO A CAUGHT FISH OR WILD FOWL
  16.  YOU CAN ONLY FISH FROM ONE SWIM AT ANY ONE TIME. IF YOU NEED TO MOVE, PLEASE VACATE YOUR CURRENT SWIM COMPLETELY AND RESITE
  17.  NO OPEN FIRES ARE PERMITTED
  18.  NO RADIOS ALLOWED AT THE BANK SIDE
  19.  RETURN FISH TO WATER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOLLOWING PHOTOGRAPHING
  20.  EACH MEMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WELFARE OF THE LAKE
  21.  MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND LICENSES TO BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES WHEN FISHING AT MAJOR’S LAKE.

         Rough Shoot Rules and Disclaimer

  1. Membership is an annual charge of £350.00. This charge is per member and is non-refundable should you cease to be a member or are disqualified from being a member for whatever reason. Members are allowed to shoot the following quarry, Pigeon, Rabbits, Crows, Magpies and foxes on certain areas and can ferret rabbits.
  2. Members are also entitled to fish Wallend Fisherman’s pond. Guests are allowed to accompany members to fish provided it has been agreed with the office & the guest ticket has been paid.
  3. Members are only allowed to bring a guest shooting once it has been agreed with the office, all guest tickets must be paid for on the day of booking via a debit / credit card payment or on the day of the shoot by cash. The cost of a day ticket is £40.00 and the guest must be accompanied by a full member.
  4. All members must hold valid insurance, game licenses, shotgun and firearms licenses where appropriate. Please make sure that you carry a copy with you when out shooting. This rule also applies to guests.
  5. No member is to use a firearm until after a year of membership and obtaining permission from Country Sports. (This is subject to availability).
  6. All bookings for a day’s shoot must be made at least 24 hours in advance, if booking for a weekend shoot you need to contact the office by 3.30pm on Friday.
  7. You are only permitted on the area you have booked; this is for health & safety reasons. You must not move to another area unless it has been agreed by the office (Monday-Friday 7am-5pm) If you do move to another field without permission your membership could be revoked. If you are unsure of the area please ask.
  8. You will be issued with an ID card which will have your photograph and signature. It will also carry the expiry date of the membership. This card must be carried whenever on a shoot or on our land otherwise you shall be asked to leave.
  9. If you have not booked an area and you are caught shooting on our land without permission your membership will be revoked immediately.
  10. All gun safety measures must be observed at all times. Anyone who is proved to be “unsafe” will have their membership revoked.
  11. You must not carry your gun outside of our borders.
  12. Dogs must be kept under strict control at all times.
  13. All quarry must be collected and taken away.
  14. Country Sports cannot be held responsible for any bag numbers.
  15. No Game to be shot out of season anywhere on our land, failure to abide by this rule will result in your membership being revoked immediately.(Please refer to your shooting season guide if you are unsure).
  16. Hares are limited to one Hare per member per visit between 1st June – 31st Jan. After 31st January hares are not to be shot due to the breeding season. Anyone seen shooting hares out of this season will have their membership revoked immediately.
  17. Stray marsh and Wallend (52) are on a SSSI ground therefore between 1st February – 16th March and 16th June – 1st August a bag limit on rabbits will be in place. This is a limit of 20 rabbits per group per visit.
  18. Members are not allowed to give their membership card on loan to friends.
  19. At no time are you permitted to shoot from a moving vehicle, you mustpark your vehicle up and walk to the area you are booked onto.
  20. Do not drive on the fields / crops or damage them. Driving on the fields is only permitted once crops have been cut and the fields are stubble. If you are unsure of when this is then please ask.
  21. Please do not shoot near our neighbours houses.
  22. Country Sports have the right to alter these conditions as and when necessary.

 

                 You must always collect all your rubbish and cartridges and take them home with you.

             Please do not litter our land!

All rights to shoot over our land will be revoked when you are no longer a member of Country Sports

Country Sports, nor the owners nor the employees nor the land holders will be held liable for any injury sustained and or loss of property however so caused.

       Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your membership being revoked

DUCK FLIGHTING RULES

Season - Sept 1st – 31st Jan

  1. A morning flight is 1 hour before dawn and 1 hour after and the evening flight is 1 hour before dusk and 1 hour after. Once the shoot is over you must collect your bag and vacate the area within 30 minutes so as not to disturb other roosting ducks.
  2. You must stay on your allocated pond and not wander around the farm land.
  3. Please ensure you park on the allocated area  and walk to the pond via the route shown on your maps.
  4. You may bring a guest duck flighting once it has been agreed with the office, the charge for your guest is £50 per flight and must be paid in advance.
  5. You must be accompanied by a dog to retrieve ducks.
  6. Only members and guests are permitted to be at the ponds, no watchers are permitted.
  7. You must keep your guns in there slips/case until you reach your designated pond.
  8. All cartridges and litter are to be collected and taken home with you at the end of your flight.
  9. You must only use a non-toxic shot. It is against the LAW to use lead.
  10. You may only book duck flighting up to 1 week in advance.
  11. We ask members to keep a record of your bag shot during the season and let us know your total at the end of the season. (This helps us prepare for the following years season)
